At PT Competitive Edge, our mission is to provide high-quality physical therapy services to our clients, helping them to recover from injuries and improve their overall physical well-being.
Our team
Jennifer Smith, MPT
Jennifer received her Masters of Physical Therapy from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, Texas. She began her career as a PT close to home in Dallas,TX. later transferring with her husband and kids to the North Georgia area to work with the Atlanta Falcons. She has always had a love for sports and competition as she has roots in a large family and 5 boys of her own. This allows her to use her skills at home as well as in the clinic. Having raised 2 collegiate cheerleaders, competitive wrestlers, football players, and track athletes allows her to identify both the psychological as well as physical needs of the athlete to excel at the next level.
Jennifer is a published clinician bringing a variety of experience with her as the owner of PT Competitive Edge. Her orthopedic, sports medicine career began in the clinic and was followed through on the field allowing her to work directly with high school, college and olympic athletes, as well as with other professional athletes in NFL, MLB, NHL, and MLS. For the past 26 years she has worked in orthopedics and been the director over multiple sports medicine out-patient clinics, showcasing her expertise within a variety of conditions. She also worked in an orthopedic based home care, highly focused on acute total joint replacements and pediatrics (neonatal-18).
Her continuing education has allowed her to complete a manual PT curriculum and become a certified instructor for pre/postpartum patients. She is also certified in post-concussion rehabilitation. Her unique ability to relate across all age ranges and gain positive results quickly is a result of her expertise and skill.
Jennifer started PT Competitive Edge when she recognized the need for an affordable concierge physical therapy practice, treating patients of all ages and abilities, focusing one on one attention with each patient to help them reach their goals. She often finds herself treating multiple members of the same family because of their positive experience.
